A short post to sum up the other stuff.

Wednesday marked my final day working in the costume shop!  I have mixed feelings about this.  On the one hand: yay, no work!  I can focus on preparing for the upcoming school year; researching for shows, drawing, getting our finances in order, cooking, and generally having fun!  On the other hand, we need all the work we can get and I feel a slight discrepancy between how much we were told we'd work and how much we actually did.  But then I go lounge by the pool or curl up with a good book and remember the joys of summer vacation and the complaints float away.

Ben has one more week of shows and we will have an embarrassment of free-time riches.

One of the great things about Bloomington: high turnover rate = cheap furniture!  We purchased a gorgeous chair this week and it's in great condition!  Our living room feels just a little homier now with more than just a couch.

Aside from work, this week almost exclusively revolved around The Dark Knight Rises.  Monday we got together with friends (including our new friends from last week, Jaron and Nicole!), ordered pizza (Bloomington has some seriously good pizza) and watched Batman Begins and The Dark Night to prepare for the newest edition.  Because Bloomington has two AMCs that are almost identical in which movies they show, we had some ticketing issues in trying to get four couples to the same theatre at roughly the same time.  Then, on Thursday night, we joined the masses for the Midnight Premiere.  It was awesome.  Or, I should say, Ben and I really really liked it.  We thought it was great and satisfying but the couple we saw it with really didn't like it.  So they obviously have questionable taste, but we like them anyway.  Of course, the following morning (afternoon, really, after staying up until 4am...) we learned of the tragedy in Aurora, CO and we've been following the news since.  It's incredibly sad, but it also makes us angry.  We're going to see the movie agan, in part because we really liked it and were already thinking we might like to, and in part as a small shout at the wind that we won't let horrible people ruin the joys of life.  We refuse to give them the satisfaction.
